Thank you for reading, Lori! And thanks for another bookstore for my list. Sometimes the tiniest bookstores are the absolute best (like Shipwrecked Books in Healdsburg in the photo above). Next time I'm up in Sonoma, I'm going to hit Poet's Corner! :)
So many on your list I need to visit! Some of my favorites...Beacon Hill Books in Boston, Parnassus in Nashville (author-owned), An Unlikely Story in MA (Author-owned), One Grand in Narrowsburg, NY (tiny but amazing premise--"celebrated thinkers, writers, artists, and other creative minds share the ten books they would take to their metaphorical desert island")
Oh, I love Beacon Hill Books, Kathy! I was there last year and had lunch in the cafe with a friend. It's such a quaint store and the children's room -- darling! I have added your recs to my ever-expanding list. Sometimes the tiniest stores are the best. Thanks for reading and for sharing! :)
Great, inspiring post! I pulled the trigger and dropped a copy of Chapel Bay Secrets off at an indie bookstore in downtown Sacramento. Authors don’t make much money selling in bookstores, but it’s always nice to mention that your book is on the shelves somewhere!
Great list! I try to visit a local bookstore every time I travel, and a regular outing I enjoy with my daughter. In Austin, I like Black Pearl Books. It's the only Black-owned bookstore in the area.
Thanks, Mary! You and I are definitely on the same wavelength about always visiting a bookstore wherever traveling. I have now added Black Pearl Books to my list! :)
In Richmond VA it's Fountain Book Store. Opened in 1978. Has tons of author programs!
Thanks, Maggie! I look forward to visiting someday!
such great list!!!
Thanks, Rachel. In the future, a book deal might warrant a trip to a few 🙂
I like the way you think!
Poet’s Corner bookstore in Duncan’s Mills, California, is the tiniest bookstore in the US.

That's great, Julie! You know, it's also just getting it out there. Visual representation -- and you never know. 🤞
And thanks for the kind words. :)
Thanks, Angie
